The Pontiac Silverdome "Home Sweet Home" for the Detroit Lions. During the past 20 years, the building has earned a reputation as one of the finest sports facilities in the world. The Silverdome has the largest seating capacity (at 80,368) among NFL stadiums. The air-supported and cable-restrained facility is the largest of its kind in the world and is the first successful example of a fiberglass fabric roof system. The Silverdome was built at a cost of $55.7 million.
This recent construction of the Recreation and Athletic Center is a 250,000 square foot facility that houses a 3,000 seat indoor arena, 1,000 seat natatorium, a gymnasium weight training and fitness area, running track, wellness center and a host of athletic courts.

Three new gaming casinos will be built on the site along the Detroit river just behind the Ren Cen, pictured here. Ford Motor Company sold the RenCen to GM in 1996, which is now the new headquarters of the world's largest corporation. Close to 2 billion dollars, collectively, will be spent on the construction of the casinos by their owners. It was also reported that GM will throw in a multi-billion dollar promenade of shops, restaurants, upscale housing to be located between the new casinos and the Ren Cen...exciting stuff.
The Detroit Golf Club this is a hilly and serene course near Palmer Park, just north of 6 mile. Local celebrities, athletes, business leaders and politicians play here. This course and club house is full of history.

The Renaissance Center - General Motors will soon put their sign atop this showpiece in downtown Detroit.
