Three new gaming casinos will be built on the site along the Detroit river just behind the Ren Cen, pictured here. Ford Motor Company sold the RenCen to GM in 1996, which is now the new headquarters of the world's largest corporation. Close to 2 billion dollars, collectively, will be spent on the construction of the casinos by their owners. It was also reported that GM will throw in a multi-billion dollar promenade of shops, restaurants, upscale housing to be located between the new casinos and the Ren Cen...exciting stuff. |
