Detailed Work ActivitiesWe are seeking an Editor-in-Chief or Editor-in-Charge to oversee all aspects of content production, event coverage and monetization on the site. The Editor-in-Chief will manage the day-to-day production of all written content online including scripts, editorial, blogs, headlines, promos, etc. We are looking for real web management experience and enthusiasm for online media and the substantial monetization of quality content. The Editor-in-Chief will be responsible for the development of creative writing styles and accompanying style guides. He/She will ensure continuity of the brand and set the tone of this group as it interfaces with TV, On Demand, Special Events and other internal media groups. Additionally, the Editor-in-Chief will be continually challenged with the differentiation of content, tone and editorial among other production units including Television and On Demand. Specifically, the organization will be looking to the Editor-in-Chief to formulate content plans. create and manage editorial schedules (both long and short term), develop distinctive tone and voice for editorial packages and site sections, manage the production of online assignments from producers and partners through the production shop. The Editor-in-Chief will direct Information Architecture and Design to optimize revenue. Required Skills and ExperienceIntegrate creative resources and assets from Television and build a world class online entity Supervise production materials, activities and daily production processes required for online content Optimize site for monetization through ad agencies, direct client, in-house merchandising, social networking, wireless integration and access to content libraries through a CMS. Implement staff policies and manage full-time, freelance, vendors and contract staff as required Interpret information to formulate story ideas and fan experiences and execute in online friendly ways Organize story elements and coverage information beyond articles of text and pictures Track metrics that demonstrate improvements in content quality (unique, user frequency/duration) and implement revisions to plan to achieve the interactive group (IG) goals Identify interests of site visitors and continually tailor product to their needs and expectations Collaborate to develop new interactive tools Continually surprise and delight fans with creativity and enhanced functionality Supervise the verification of facts: sources, and historical data Supervise and write headlines and promos while ensuring correct (or relevant) grammar, punctuation or spelling Follow copyright laws to protect internal intellectual property and exposure in use of outside intellectual property Assemble criteria for Junior writers, content providers as well as a writing style guide Negotiate contracts, royalties, and payments for authors or freelancers and conversely for entities seeking to assimilate or disseminate your content. Develop story or content ideas, considering reader or audience appeal Confer with management and editorial staff members regarding placement and emphasis of developing news stories to the mutually benefit of TV, On-Demand, Wireless, Licensing and Merchandising opportunities Meet frequently with artists, sports personalities, agents, marketing, ad agencies, advertising clients, production managers and senior management to discuss projects as needed to assure world class content and the optimization of revenue. ContactExperience managing the online content and online monetization of a global media brand from a business, technical and creative perspective. The ability and desire to function as a strategic executive and to execute tactically to bring business goals to fruition. Honed knowledge of the web from business, technical and creative perspectives with respect to written, interactive and video products. The ability to create and optimize content to enhance revenue for digital ad networks, micro-sites, ad agencies, direct clients, consumers, social networking, merchandising, licensing, on demand and wireless interaction. Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer service. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction. Keen eye for details Strong commercial and business sensibility for monetizing content and participation Deep understanding of arid enthusiasm for professional sports and the sports fan experience Highly collaborative nature and spirit Ability to meet the needs of the firm as stated above by being present and available to staff members Ability to work in conjunction with TV, interactive and special event schedules at varied hours and days as required A minimum of approximately 7-10 years of related experience Bachelors or advanced degree in related discipline Mr. Tony Filson
