Function
|
The Senior TV News Producer is responsible for the journalistic and creative development, production, content quality of each show, constructing fresh, informative, creative, compelling shows, ensuring balanced content consistent with the mission goals of the company. The Senior Producer Maintains the creative vision and look and feel of programs aligned with the departments’ vision.
The Senior TV News Producer for Arabic News Broadcasts is responsible for overseeing the gathering, writing and producing of each show and will lead and produce new and innovative productions. This Sr. Producer will mentors and serve as a resource to junior members of the staff as they demonstrate strong news judgment; ensure journalistic standards of fairness, accuracy and relevancy. This Sr. Production position is central to the successful ongoing operation of assigned programs and to maintaining company broadcast standards.

Duties
|
- Develop reports, features, and monitors current news events.
- Take direction from the Editor in Chief.
- Supervise all show staff members.
- Supervise and coordinate all preproduction planning.
- Supervise overall production activities; watch edited time lines and suggest improvements and/or changes.
- Assign reporters and correspondents to features and reports per the Editor in Chief.
- Deliver completed stories to the International News Bureau HQ in Washington, DC
- Manage the weekly plan as directed by International News Bureau HQ in Washington, DC per the Editor in Chief.
- Work with writers on script development and format and approve changes.
- Helps Director as needed.
- Ensures that all production details are completed, including graphics and chyrons.
- Provide the control room with information regarding the timing and content of all completed programs.
- Maintains composure and a good sense of social decorum.
- Oversee post-production and approve final edits.
- Coordinate with promotions department to create promotional materials.
- Evaluate programs to ensure that objectives are met.
- Works closely with Anchors for smooth daily operations.
- Supervise performance and development of assigned broadcast team members; this may include anchors, producers, writers, associate producers and production assistants.
- Provide appropriate and timely on-going performance feedback to assigned team members

Special Duties
|
- Determine the shows’ vision and showcase major stories.
- Assign and edit stories to writers on the team.
- Contribute creative story ideas on a daily, weekly and long-range basis.
- The Sr. Producer may be asked to perform additional duties and take on other responsibilities as dictated by events, circumstances and global news activity.

Required
|
- Bachelor’s degree in journalism or broadcast journalism ideal.
- 5 – 7 years of experience producing television newscasts.
- Must be able to communicate and translate from English to classic Arabic.
- Must have discretion, maturity and composure especially under broadcast deadline pressure.
- Must be able to manage multiple projects, set priorities and meet deadlines.
- Must be a strong, clear communicator with the ability to communicate with multiple teams as required.
- Must be able to present excellent project ideas in a cohesive and content specific manner.
- Must be able to adapt to rapidly shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be deadline driven and detail-oriented – a strategic critical thinker.
- Must have a working knowledge and the ability to operate any media asset management system.
- Must be able to thrive in an environment requiring teamwork.
- Must have good creative and editorial judgment.
- Must exercise self-discipline
- Must have sound editorial and creative judgment
- Must be able to accommodate a flexible work schedule to support a global 24/7 news environment including overnight coverage.
