Key
Responsibilities |
SUMMARY
Seeking
a highly personable, organized, proactive and deadline-oriented individual
to support a team of 10 Attorneys with complex property subrogation claims
and litigation.
RESPONSIBILITIES
-
Responsible
for intake and case management of all property subrogation claims, providing
exceptional client service
-
Facilitate
and coordinate all logistics during negotiations, mediations arbitrations,
trials and/or settlements
-
Draft
and e-file motions, pleadings, summons, complaints, subpoenas, etc.

Monitor
case status tracking updates, due dates and appearances, providing regular
updates to both Attorneys and Clients
-
Assist
with discovery including gathering evidence, obtaining contracts and performing
legal and factual research

Assist
with document production including organizing documents, creating and maintaining
privilege logs, performing bates-stamping, redaction, duplication and indexing
of documents and maintaining exhibits
-
Maintain
regular communication with and roster of insurance claims representatives,
forensic consultants, adjusters, investigators and experts
-
Attend
client meetings, court appearances and depositions, digesting and drafting
concise and accurate summaries

Perform
general administrative duties as needed to ensure effective and efficient
case progress

Required
Skills |
-
2+ years
of litigation assistant and/or paralegal experience
-
Knowledge
of insurance coverage, claims procedures and subrogation issues related
to property subrogation claims and litigation
-
Demonstrated
experience with New York Supreme and Federal Court rules and procedures
-
Ability
to independently draft and file motions, pleadings, waivers and notices
-
Strong
interpersonal and communication skills
-
Great
ability to develop rapport and trust with others
-
Highly
organized with the ability to act on unexpected client needs at a moment’s
notice
-
Proficiency
using MS Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint; Adobe; Westlaw; LexisNexis;
Pacer and one form of centralized case/document management system such
as Concordance, Summation, Worldox, etc.

Paralegal
certificate or Bachelor's degree preferred
